Terms of Service
Last updated July 13, 2026
GreenBook is a community-first business discovery app. If you use it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's fine, just don't use it.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 years old.
- Keep your login secure. That's on you.
- One account per person. Don't make fakes.
- We can suspend accounts that break these rules.
Posting reviews, stories, and alerts
The community only works if people are honest. When you post anything on GreenBook:
- Be honest. Share what actually happened. Don't make things up.
- Be respectful. No hate speech, threats, harassment, or putting people's personal info out there.
- Stay on topic. Your content should be about the business experience.
- Don't spam. No repeated posts, no ads.
- Be yourself. Don't impersonate other people.
Community alerts
The "Heads-Up" feature is for real safety concerns. Don't abuse it. Specifically:
- Don't post false alerts to hurt a business
- Don't use them for personal grudges
- Keep them about the actual business experience
Alerts expire after 14 days. Abuse gets your account suspended.
If you're a business owner
- You can claim your listing if you verify ownership.
- You can reply to reviews.
- You cannot pay or incentivize people for good reviews.
- You cannot retaliate against reviewers.
- You cannot make fake accounts to review yourself.
Who owns what
You own your reviews, stories, and alerts. By posting them here, you give us permission to show them in the app and in any marketing for GreenBook (like sharing anonymized stats about a neighborhood). You can delete your content whenever you want.
Moderation
We'll remove content that breaks these rules. Anyone can flag something, and we try to review flags within 48 hours. We're a small team so bear with us.
Our stuff
The GreenBook name, logo, app design, scoring system, and demographic filtering technology are proprietary. Don't copy or redistribute them without asking.
Liability
GreenBook shows you community-generated opinions about businesses. We can't guarantee any of it is accurate. Use your own judgment when deciding where to go. We're not responsible for what happens at a business you found through us.
The app is provided as-is. Our total liability to you, for anything, is capped at $50.
Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime from profile settings. We can also terminate accounts that violate these terms. When an account is deleted, the data goes with it per our privacy policy.
Legal bits
These terms are governed by New York state law. Disputes go to courts in New York County.
Changes
We might update these. If it's something significant, we'll tell you in the app. If you keep using GreenBook after a change, that counts as accepting it.
